For decades, Ruger Mini-14 Tactical rifles have been the choice for personal defense. Their short barrels and overall short length make them favorites in any application where maneuverability and ease of handling are priorities. Specifically designed for mounting today's scopes or other optical sighting systems, these rifles include a side ejection to clear the top mounted scope, and a patented recoil buffer which protects the scope from damage or shifting the point of impact as the semi-automatic action cycles. This Mini-14 is chambered in 300 AAC Blackout and has a 20+1 capacity. It has integral sling swivels and a simple, rugged Garand style breechbolt locking system with a fixed piston gas system and self cleaning, moving gas cylinder. It features an improved receiver with rounded contours, protected blade front sight and adjustable ghost ring aperture rear sight. It has a compact, hammer forged 16.12" barrel with flash suppressor. Took it on a 3-day hunting trip
Rain on day one, dust on day two, dropped it once getting out of the truck. Zero issues. Cleaned it back at camp in about ten minutes. this brand clearly tested this thing in the real world, not just on a range bench.

It works, that's about it
Bought it on sale and got what I paid for. Cycles, shoots, doesn't fall apart. No personality though - feels like a tool, not a firearm I'm proud to own. Three stars feels honest.

Trigger alone is worth it
Crisp wall, clean break, short reset - wall to bang feels like a third of the distance compared to my old gun. I shoot tighter groups without thinking about it. The rest of the package is bonus.
