In 2003 the gunsmiths and engineers at Smith & Wesson wanted to deliver maximum power for serious handgun hunters. The power they sought required an entirely new frame, the massive "X-Frame," and was the basis for the new Model S&W500, the most powerful production revolver in the world. This ushered in the era of the "big gun" and was only the beginning. For ultimate power and velocity there's nothing even close to an X-Frame model handgun. Specifications:

Took it on a 3-day hunting trip
Rain on day one, dust on day two, dropped it once getting out of the truck. Zero issues. Cleaned it back at camp in about ten minutes. this brand clearly tested this thing in the real world, not just on a range bench.

Took a phone call to get to me
Tiny shipping delay because the carrier left it at the wrong house - not BlackForge's fault, and they followed up to make sure it eventually arrived. The gun itself has been good. Four stars for the experience, gun is closer to 4.5.

Five hundred rounds and counting
Half a case in. No cleaning yet, no failures yet. 500 S&W hollow points feed identically to ball ammo, which matters for what I carry. Recoil impulse is straight back - no muzzle flip to speak of.

Outstanding for the money
I run a small training school and recommend this to students who want a serious starter piece without spending custom-shop money. The striker-fired mechanism is forgiving, the sights are intuitive, and parts availability is excellent.
